Lantmäteriet is a government agency tasked with securing property ownership, making geodata accessible to society, and laying the foundation for a well-functioning national economy. It also plays an active role, in collaboration with others, in the digitalisation of the spatial planning and construction process.
Lantmäteriet maps Sweden and provides society with maps, images, and other geographic information. This is referred to as geodata. Geodata describes everything with a geographic location, such as properties, buildings, lakes, roads, vegetation, and population.
